Professor of Medical Oncology at Alcala University and Director of the Medical Oncology Department at Ramon y Cajal University Hospital in Madrid, Spain. He is presently serving as Director of the Ramon y Cajal Institute for Health Research IRYCIS.
Dr. Núria Malats
Head of the Genetic and Molecular Epidemiology Group at the Spanish National Cancer Research Centre (CNIO), Madrid, Spain. She has a broad expertise in these fields of research by focusing mainly on bladder and pancreas cancer. She coordinates several large national and international studies integrating different levels of information, including omics data, in both disease development and progression. She has over 250 publications and is an external reviewer of national and international funding agencies and first rank scientific journals. Dr. Malats chaired the EUPancreas COST Action (BM1204), is a board member of the International Pancreatic Cancer Case Control Consortium (PanC4), and the chair of the Research Work Stream of Pancreatic Cancer Europe (PCE) multistakeholder platform.
Sorin T. Barbu
Professor of Surgery, Chairman of the 4th Surgery Department and member of the Surgery Council at the “Iuliu Hatigeanu” University of Medicine & Pharmacy in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. He has been President of the Romanian Pancreatic Club since 2007, Councillor in the Executive Committee of the European Federation – International Society for Digestive Surgery (EFISDS), member of the UEG Public Affairs Committee and of the European Pancreatic Club since 2002. Before being elected Board Member at the PCE AGM in Barcelona, in June 2018, he has been a member of PCE since 2015.
