PCE is pleased to announce the launch of the 2026 Edition of the Early Career Investigator (ECI) Short-term Scientific Stay Award.
This initiative aims to support the next generation of pancreatic cancer researchers by offering funding opportunities for short-term scientific stays across Europe. Through this award, PCE seeks to strengthen existing research networks, foster new collaborations between leading institutions, and promote knowledge exchange in pancreatic cancer research.
The award will support one or more Early Career Investigators to undertake a scientific stay of 1 to 3 months in a host institution located in another European country. The stay should focus on learning new techniques, accessing specialised instruments or methodologies, and advancing pancreatic cancer research training opportunities that are not available in the applicant’s home institution.
Applicants may include:
Early Career Investigators who completed their PhD no more than five years ago;
PhD students conducting research in pancreatic cancer.
The host institution must be internationally recognised for its work in pancreatic cancer research, and applicants are required to secure the host institution’s agreement before submitting their application.
The maximum grant amount is EUR 5,000 and may cover:
Travel expenses;
Daily allowance;
Visa costs, where applicable;
Other justified direct costs.
The scientific stay must take place and conclude before 31 December 2026.
Selected candidates will be asked to provide a final report summarising the achievements and outcomes of their scientific stay, which may be featured through PCE communication channels.
