The Winner:
Marina Cihova, a researcher from the Slovak Academy of Sciences, emerged as the recipient of a prestigious award. Her groundbreaking work in the Cancer Research Institute garnered recognition, particularly for her endeavours to advance pancreatic cancer research. Marina embarked on a collaborative journey as part of her endeavours by spending a month at the renowned Ramon y Cajal Health Research Institute in Madrid, Spain.
The project:
Her primary objective during this period was to develop highly relevant pre-clinical study models utilising patient-derived pancreatic tumour organoids. Marina’s innovative approach and dedication significantly contributed to the scientific community’s ongoing efforts to combat this formidable disease.
