The importance of information on pancreatic cancer for the general public in Belgium

The idea:

Having clear and reliable information is essential in the fight against pancreatic cancer, especially for early detection and patient support. This project aims to raise awareness in Belgian communities about the importance of recognising early warning signs and accessing useful information about the disease.

By providing materials in the three national languages, French, Flemish, and German, the project will help both the Belgian general public and healthcare professionals to better understand key topics like symptoms, nutrition, physical activity, and emotional support.

Aims and objectives of the project:

The project’s primary goal is to increase awareness on pancreatic cancer in Belgium by improving access to vital information. Specifically, it aims to:

  • Raise awareness among the Belgian general public about the importance of early detection of pancreatic cancer.
  • Enhance the availability of specific information on pancreatic cancer in Belgium’s three national languages: French, Flemish, and German.
  • Equip Belgian healthcare professionals with patient-tailored tools to support individuals affected by pancreatic cancer.
  • Sustain people diagnosed with pancreatic cancer with information and support them to improve their quality of life.

Through the development and dissemination of multilingual educational materials, as well as a targeted awareness campaign via social media and national hospitals, the project seeks to ensure that crucial information reaches those who need it most.
